SEPARATION AGREEMENT

As part of our Online Legal Services, our firm will prepare a A Legal Separation in New York Agreement (also known as a Property and Separation Agreement) as part of our Online Legal Serives. A Property and Separation Agreement may be used if you and your spouse wish to separate and desire to have all issues of custody, support and property division placed into an agreement.

Our New York Separation Agreements are inclusive, easy to read and understand and will protect your rights.

In order to proceed with our Online Legal Services - Separation and Property Agreement: You and your spouse must already agree to any of the terms you wish to be contained in the agreement. An example of some issues that can be specified in a Separation Agreement are:

1. Custody of the minor children and visitation rights.

2. Child Support, including medical insurance coverage for the minor children.

3. Spousal Support, including medical insurance coverage for the spouse.

4. Disposition of the marital residence.

5. Division of marital assets including; automobiles, household furnishings, monetary assets, division of marital, pensions, IRA, and other retirement benefits. debt.

Once you have completed the online forms, we will prepare a comprehensive Property and Separation Agreement in accordance with New York State law. The Agreement will be sent to the address you have specified. Both spouses must sign the document.

A Property and Separation Agreement is not a divorce. Once both parties sign the Agreement and have lived under its terms for a period of one year, you may retain this firm to prepare a Divorce using this Agreement as the final terms of your divorce. This type of divorce is called a Conversion Divorce.

You may also retain this firm if you and your spouse decide to divorce before the expiration of one year.

This firm will only represent one spouse. We will only represent the spouse who completes the online firms and retains this firm.

If you choose these options, you must print out both the Statement of Client's Rights and Responsibilies, and the Retainer Agreement. Please sign both documents and return them to our office by mail.
