Divorce In New YorkCONVERSION DIVORCEIf you and your spouse have had a signed formal Separation and Property Agreement that has been in effect for one year, you may use this Agreement to obtain a divorce known as a Conversion Divorce. A Conversion Divorce allows you to obtain a divorce without specifying the grounds for the divorce. This Agreement must have been signed and notarized by both you and your spouse, both your and your spouse have been in compliance with its terms, and it has been in effect for one year. If you wish to obtain a Conversion Divorce, you must first submit the Agreement to our office. Once we have received the Agreement, we will process and submit all of the necessary papers along with the Agreement to finalize your divorce. Once your divorce has been finalized, you will receive a certified copy of your New York Divorce Decree. This firm will only represent one spouse. We will only represent the spouse who completes the online firms and retains this firm. If you do not have a proper Separation and Property Agreement, this office can prepare one for you. PROPERTY AND SEPARATION AGREEMENT If you choose this option, you must print out both the Statement of Client's Rights and Responsibilies, and the Retainer Agreement.
